The opening mass for Academic year 2019 - 2020 was held at the Divine Word College of San Jose- Fr. McSherry Gymnasium at 2:30 in the afternoon.

The celebrant was Rev. Fr. Dennis Testado, SVD from the University of San Carlos (USC), concelebrated by the other SVD priests, Rev. Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD, Rev. Fr. Ronillo B. Ordenes, SVD, Rev. Fr. Nonito D. Gallego, SVD, Rev. Fr. Joel Sagdullas, SVD, June 17, 2019.

Students from CDC to college, faculty, staffs and employees gathered for the institutional event.

This Holy Mass was held to formally begin the start of the new academic year 2019-2020 through a blessed celebration, to remind the DWCSJ family that we should start this school year with God.

According to Fr. Testado's homily, it is better to know the Holy Trinity to fully understand and accept God the Father as our creator, God the Son as our savior and God the Holy Spirit as our redeemer.

We shouldn't live in our comfort zone because God wants us to explore and have the confidence given to us by God.

Before the mass ended, Rev. Fr. Nonito Gallego, SVD, our VP for Finance, introduced the three seminarians who celebrated the mass with the whole community; Frt. Mark Francis Acosta, Frt. Joseph Gelasio and the former student of DWCSJ, Bro. Don Kenneth Lim.

Celebration of the Holy Eucharist ended well through the cooperation of all the members of the school.

In line with this, new set of rules and regulations was given by Rev. Fr. Ronillo B. Ordenes, SVD regarding the students' attire every Friday.
