San Jose, Occidental Mindoro — Divine Word College of San Jose's (DWCSJ) student-leaders, co-missionaries and administrators joined Alay Lakad 2018 with a theme "Kabataan Suporta ng Bayan" to participate with its initiatives of providing scholarship grants to sixty (60) poor but deserving students last September 2, 2018, Municipal Town Plaza.

Alay Lakad is an annual walk-for-a-cause activity initiated by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Jose and participated by different sectors of the community which aims to uplift the lives of its citizens.

A total of 1,400,000 pesos was generated from the donations of various schools, organizations and institutions within the municipality. Out of the collection, DWCSJ contributed a total amount of 100,000 pesos which earned the highest contributor award in schools category.

Divinians also bagged awards in the beauty and built category when Mr. Emmanuelle Genesis B. Simon and Ms. Alyssa Marie Reyes, both senior high school students, were hailed as Mr. and Ms. Alay Lakad 2018. Also, siblings Mr Raymond Floresca, college student, and Ms. Mia Floresca, a junior high student, were awarded as first runners up after representing the Office of the Representative.
