Last January 29-31, three Editors of The Pioneer publication, together with their adviser, Mrs. Elvie Aragones, participated in the 15th Regional Higher Education Press Conference held at Western Palawan University, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

The theme of the conference was, "Shaping Critical Thinkers through Fair and Balanced Campus Journalism".

Ms. Leonila Laab ranked 3rd in Opinion Writing (Filipino Category), Ms. Khryss Gayo ranked 2nd in Photojournalism (English Category) while, Ms. Rica Mae Diosay ranked 3rd in Copyreading and Headline Writing (English Category), 4th in Sports Writing and 4th in Laying-out Contest (English Category).

Meanwhile, the publication won 10 awards in group competition; 7 trophies for tabloid and 3 trophies for folio. The publication ranked 2nd in Best News Page, 3rd in Best Devcomm Page, 3rd in Best Literary Page, 3rd in Best Sports Page, 4th in Best Page Design, 4th in Best Editorial Page and 4th in Best Feature Page.

Also, The Pioneer Literary Folio, "Langit. Lupa. Impyerno", ranked 3rd in Best Page Design, 5th in Best Cover Page and 5th in Best in Literary Content.
