Earthquake Drill Prepares BED Students for Disaster Response

Students from the Basic Education Department, teachers, and volunteers actively engaged in the earthquake drill, which included mock evacuations, first aid training, and communication protocols at the DWCSJ Ground, February 29.

The simulation organized by Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction (DRRR) teacher, Ms. Imarie Dablo, aimed to simulate a realistic scenario and educate the Basic Education community on proper safety procedures during earthquakes.

The earthquake drill served as a valuable opportunity for students and teachers to familiarize themselves with emergency procedures, identify potential vulnerabilities, and strengthen community resilience. With the lessons learned from this exercise, anyone stands better prepared to face challenges posed by seismic events in the future.
