San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - The robotics team from Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) achieved remarkable success at the 2024 World Robotics Games, held from November 5 to 8 at Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore. The competition saw students showcasing their robot-building, calibration, and coding expertise across various categories. DWCSJ brought home a total of five medals, with Elcid Felix T. Rengel earning a Silver Medal in the Junior I-beam line tracing, and John Edward A. Las Dulce claiming Silver in the Senior category. Matt Aaron A. Quilit won Bronze, while Gian Marvin S. Duca and Christian Xavier D. Tabora each earned Copper Medals, underscoring the team's exceptional performance.
In addition to their success in the competition, the students enjoyed various cultural experiences, exploring top attractions like Universal Studios Singapore, the S.E.A. Aquarium, and Gardens by the Bay. The team also visited Legoland Malaysia before returning home on November 11. The week-long event highlighted their technical skills and fostered teamwork and camaraderie among the students, marking a memorable chapter in DWCSJ's history.
