The 2023 College Student Council Miting De Avance was held on Thursday, September 7, at the Fr. McSherry Gymnasium. It is a day for the college department to hear the platforms of the running CSC officers for this academic year.
This program enabled the students in determining whether the chosen candidates are deserving and capable of performing the obligations associated with the position for which they are running. The program began at 9:00 in the morning. The program started with a prayer led by Ms. Tuesday Andrea M. Ramos, BSA student, followed by the opening remarks from Dr. Chona T. Jarabata, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The COMELEC chairwoman, Ms. Marleen Ann E. Gaudier, discussed the Election Guidelines.
Below is the lineup of the HIRAYA Party:
The party is committed to do their best with unflinching resolve and dedication as they are called to lead and serve, with the motto "To lead with dedication and act for the love of service." The program ended after the open forum wherein some college students and the BSA chairperson shared their concerns regarding the projects of the aspirants.
Following the program, students immediately voted. Regardless of the candidates' demonstrated leadership ability, the election rules stipulated that in order to be elected as an officer, each candidate must receive votes from at least fifty percent (50%) of the total voting population plus one.
