Divine Word College of San Jose Robotic dreamers bagged seven awards at the World Robot Games Taipei Championship 2023 held in Taipei, Taiwan, from November 16 to 18, 2023.
The DWCSJ Robotic dreamers started when coach Connie Dagdagan saw the burning potential in the igniting dedication and passion of the selected students.
After months of training and hardships, ten students flew to Taiwan to represent not only DWCSJ but also the Philippine Robotics Team. As the students battle not just with their competitors but with themselves, they still give their best and show good sportsmanship. It is indeed a battle with wit, resourcefulness, creativity, and innovation.
After the competition, the DWCSJ is loud and proud to raise the Philippine and DWCSJ flags for being able to bag achievements. Seven medals from the dreamers, namely: Arnold Rey Pastores, who won a gold medal for iBeam Line Tracing (Junior Category) and a bronze medal for Sumobot Basic (Junior Category), Atashia Anyka Magnaye, Victoria Marie Panaguiton, and Matt Aaron Quilit, who won a silver medal for iBeam Line Tracing (Senior Category), Gian Marvin Duca, who won a bronze medal for iBeam Line Tracing (Senior Category), Christian Xavier Tabora, who won a copper medal for iBeam Line Tracing (Junior Category), Matt Daniel Soliven, Anne Lorraine Norella, Thaeddeus Rengel, for participating in Sumo Robot (Senior Category), and Chrisia Khiel Sebastian for participating in Sumo Robot (Junior Category).
