Divine Word College of San Jose conducted College Orientation Program for freshies and old students at the Fr. McSherry Gymnasium, August 18.

The program started with the Freshies' walk, followed by an invocation, singing of the national anthem and DWCSJ hymn. Dr. Luis I. Gante Jr., Dean of College, addressed his opening remarks. "We would like to see you develop the best in you," he said. Fr. Felino "Jun" B. Javines Jr., SVD, DM, President of the school, also uttered his warm welcome to the students. He mentioned that the college department is working together to produce graduates that are employment fit, career fit, and life fit. He also thanked the parents and the guardians for entrusting their children to the school.

The program also included the presentation of the SVD administrators, office heads, and faculty. Starting with the Office of the President headed by Fr. Jun; Office of the Vice President for Administration and General Services headed by Br. Florencio S. Jacela, SVD; Office of the Vice President for Finance headed by Fr. Paulus Karmani, SVD; Campus Ministry Office headed by Fr. Conrado A. Alvarez, SVD; Research, Quality Assurance and Accrediatation Office headed by Dr. Lynda Christine V. Diaz; Registrar and Scholarship Coordinator, Mrs. Cynthia M. Masangcay; Library Services headed by Ms. Feil G. Alvaro; Guidance Office and PEER organization moderator headed by Mrs. Rezzielyn C. Enriquez, RPm; IT Technician Office headed by Mr. Jhonil A. Avanzado; School Physician, Dr. Levilester B. Salcedo; Physical Education Office headed by Dr. Gemma V. Santiago; CWTS coordinator and school nurse, Mr. Juan Carlo M. Villamar, RN; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Chona T. Jarabata and; Office of the Student Affairs headed by Ms. Ana Mae D. Tividad.

Mrs. Elvie D. Aragones, Chairperson of Teacher Education Department, introduced the full-time mentors for the Education program: Dr. Maria Pura C. Rayton, Dr. Gemma V. Santiago, Ms. Marleen Ann E. Gaudier, and Mr. Ferdinand F. Lanestosa. Mrs. Lorena P. Florita, Chairperson for Information Technology, discussed the two majors of the IT program: Multimedia System, and Animation and game development. Mrs. Ma. Elena M. Valera, Chairperson for Hospitality Management, mentioned the OJT program they offer for HM students. Dr. Jenny G. Limos, Chairperson for Business Administration, thanked the administration for entrusting to her the BSBA department. Mr. Marvin D. Marquez, CPA, Chairperson for Accountancy, introduced his co-teacher for BSA courses, Mr. Arjay Ross G. Gonzales, CPA.

The program ended with an open forum where students asked questions about some school-related matters.
