Divinian Dancethletes Dominate Dancesport Event for Area Meet 2024

Divine Word College of San Jose Dancesport Athletes bagged wins at the Area Meet 2024 - Dancesports Competition last March 19, 2024 at Fr. McSherry Gymnasium. The troupe faced off against the San Jose National High School troupe for the coveted slots for the upcoming 2024 Provincial Meet. The competition consists of two qualifying rounds for both the Modern Standard and Latin America dances. Our four (4) pairs of Divinian dancers displayed their immense talent and passion for dancing as they all progress to the final round. Before the final round, Sofia Nicole Q. Fuentes and Ahron Gabriel C. Madrid were awarded Best in Waltz and Best in Tango, Francis Jhey D. Mago and Christine Mae P. Aljas were awarded Best in Chachacha, and Acelbert A. Paulino and Joselle Marie R. Cunanan were awarded Best in Jive and Best in Rumba. The final round consists of the three pairs from each category facing off into a final display of musical talent, glamor, grace and endurance.

The winners for the Modern Standard event are as follows: Sofia Nicole Q. Fuentes and Ahron Gabriel C. Madrid - Silver and Kiaro M. Vasco and Janelle F. Sales - Bronze. The winners for the Latin America event are as follows: Francis Jhey D. Mago and Christine Mae P. Aljas - Gold and Acelbert A. Paulino and Joselle Marie R. Cunanan - Silver. All four pairs are qualified for the upcoming 2024 Provincial Meet.
