The 89th National Book Week Celebration, in partnership with the English Club, ended with excitement on December 4-5, 2023, following the theme: "Read, Reread, Relive."
One of the highlights of the event was the Book Character Costume parade. Standout moments included Zac Kyler Virtucio winning as the 89th NBW Literary Champion in Bracket A, and Raiza Mae Mesa as the 89th NBW Book Character Maestro in Bracket B for Junior High School. In Senior High School, Angelo Shien Arguelles won in Bracket A, with Acelbert Paulino winning in Bracket B.
Grade schoolers joined in the fun with the Reading Buddies activity, fostering teamwork and storytelling. Selected pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 6 were chosen to act and tell the story they were assigned to read. The winners from this contest are: Alexis Reign M. Manayan, Isaac John J. Ainza, Ayesha Jandie Masikip, Rodel Lance Candelario, Thereza Mei Del Rosario, Princes Jelai B. Dela Torre, and Princess Athena Luriban.
In the College Department, BSA participants showed off their knowledge and skills. Dorothy Mangariales and Angelica Gaco won the trivia contest, while Jayvee Adriano and Marinelle Paclibar excelled in book shelving.
The event encouraged everyone to embrace the joy of reading, revisit beloved stories, and relive the magic of literature.
