The Pioneer scribes bag awards in press tilt

The staff members of Pioneer publication of the Divine Word College of San Jose proved their competence after winning in the 17th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) with the theme: "#NOFILTER: Averting False Media Through Ethical Journalism," held at Hotel Supreme, Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City last February 28 to March 2, 2018.

Among the contestants from seven regions that competed in LHEPC, The Pioneer Circulation Manager, Maricoe Venn C. Paclibar ranked 4th place in Sports writing (English Category) and Features Editor, Khryss T. Gayo, won 7th place in Features writing (English Category).

Moreover, Khryss T. Gayo was elected as treasurer of Luzonwide Association of College Editors (LACE).

Luzonwide qualifiers, Leonila D. Laab (Associate Editor) and Reynold N. Quarez (Graphics Editor), also competed in the said press tilt.

Meanwhile, Dr. Luis I. Gante Jr., The Pioneer publication adviser, functioned as the coach of The Pioneer participants.
