"Faithful Chances: Lost in Las Vegas", was the theme of the first ever Senior High School Promenade occurred at the Divine Word College of San Jose Fr. McSherry Gymnasium last February 23, 2018.
In the first part, Kaizeil Ison, the SCC Secretary, commenced the ball with a soulful prayer followed by the Philippine National Anthem conducted and sang by Joselle Annia Sales and Rona Supnet respectively. Afterwards, a welcome address was given by the SHS Principal and VP of Basic Education Dr. Chona T. Jarabata ensued by the inspirational talk that was shared by Rev. Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD, President for Administration. The whole event's place was filled with emotions as the advisers began the candle-lighting ceremony. Several stunning students were selected by their respective advisers to flaunt their astounding beauty and look as well as their dresses and suits for the selection of winners for various awards. Subsequently, the dance showdown for the dance floor duke and duchess took place.
After dinner, the dance presentation of each Grade 12 section came off. From then on, the announcement of winners occurred. The first minor awards, Female and Male Celebrity look of the night, were given to Ms. Dianne Mercene and Rex Marco. The second minor awards, Catwalk Guy and Gal, were given to Mr. Kevin Gil Dizon and Ms. Judy Lou Uy. And finally, the third minor awards, dance floor duke and duchess, were given to Mr. Ryan Christopher Arellano and Ms. Aljoie Dimalaluan. After that, the major awards were presented. The first major awards, Mr. and Ms. Trendsetter 2018, were given to Mr. Xytorr Lising and Ms. Judy Lou Uy. The second major awards, Beau and Belle of the Ball 2018, were given to Mr. Jonathan Borromeo and Ms. Raizza Mae Acuzar. And lastly, the third major awards, Seniors' King and Queen 2018, were given to Mr. Neil Edward Saducos and Ms. Aljelica Aguilar. After the giving of minor and major awards, the royal dance of the winners occurred.
At the end of the ball, all the students enjoyed themselves as they dance according to the rhythm of the music.
