Guarin crowned Ms. DWCSJ '18

Ten candidates vied for the title and crown but Ms. Mary Myca Bliss Guarin, a 5th year BSA student, took it home after being hailed Ms. DWCSJ 2018, February 7.

Ten candidates first graced the stage in their sportswear for their production number. After a short break, they spiced up the stage in their sexy jeans attire. Next, the candidates showcased their school spirit when they appeared in their school uniforms. Then, they flaunted their sense of professionalism in their Smart Casual looks. Next, they portrayed their abilities and gifts in the Talent Portion of the evening. Lastly, the candidates displayed their elegance and charm in their evening gowns.

Mr. Seth Valera serenaded the candidates before announcing the minor and major awardees. Sponsors of Ms. DWCSJ chose their favored candidates and gave them various prizes. Ms. Ashley Mellika Tovillo, a third year tourism Student, garnered almost all the major awards: Best in Production Number, Best in Jeans Attire, Best in Uniform, Best in Smart Casual and Best in Evening Gown award and Ms. Mary Myca Bliss Guarin got the Best in Talent Award.

After a short intermission, the Magic 5 was announced and they were given a chance to show their knowledge and wisdom in the Question and Answer Portion of the night.

All scores were back to zero for the QandA, and the same question was asked to all candidates. "What is your generation's personality?" The candidates all had different insights about their generation. The gymnasium was filled with silence as each of the candidates answered the question.

The audience, of course had their own judgments, but ultimately, Ms. Dinglasan was declared to be 4th runner-up. Next were Ms. Tovillo and Ms. Bayaoa in 3rd and 2nd place, respectively. During a thrilling, breathtaking pause, Ms. Ylagan and Ms. Guarin's supporters were going wild, screaming out their candidate's name. Then, Ms. Ylagan was hailed Ms. DWCSJ 2018 first runner-up and Ms. Guarin's supporters went berserk.

Members of the Cultural committee facilitated and handled all of the preparations prior to the pageant night.
