Junior High School Department held its 20th Family Day at McSherry Gymnasium with the theme, DWCSJ- HS FAMILY DAY @20: "We are One in God's Love" October 7, 2017.
The Celebration started with kick-off activities like Family Zumba and Fun Run held early in the morning followed by the Family Rosary participated by the JHS Department on October 6.
Rev. Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass. It was co-celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ronillo B. Ordenes, SVD; Rev. Fr. Nonito D. Gallego, SVD; Rev. Fr. Joel E. Sagdullas, SVD; and Rev. Fr. Thaddeus J. Teaño, SVD. Students were given a chance to show their interminable love through giving of letters, gifts and surprises to their families.
The program was started by the entrance of every Grade Level Family, followed by doxology performed by Grade 8 - St. Albert. DWCSJ Drums and Lyres led the Philippine National Anthem.
Glorieta O. Mendoza, JHS principal, welcomed the students and their families. It was sfollowed by an inspirational message given by Rev. Fr. Nonito D. Gallego, SVD. Rommel M. Driza gave a message to all the parents who attended and Rashmin Lemor E. Driza, SACB President, gave a response as a child. Classrooms served as venues for families lunch break.
In the afternoon, Grade 7 St. Scholastica and St. Bridget danced Tinikling while St. Agnes, St. Ma. Goretti and St. Rose danced Itik-itik. Grades 8, St. Albert and St. Cyril performed Sakuting, and St. Alphonse, St. Augustine and St. Thomas showcased Cariñosa. Grade 9 students grooved to the beat of Cha-cha. Lastly, Grade 10 students demonstrated Indak Pandurukan.
Students, faculty and staffs won the raffle draws. Special awards such as "The Most Numbered Family," "Early Bird Family ", "The Youngest Participant," "The Oldest Participant," and "The Farthest Place of Origin" were also given.
Krista Helena de Guzman, grade 9 student, with her mother, Mrs. Helen de Guzman, were the Masters of Ceremony of the said event.
Bingo Bonding Ball ended the celebration with prizes ranging from P100-P1000. It was hosted by Leo Angelo Pablo.
